10 year old daughter married by 28 year old man

In Pakistan’s third largest city Faislabad. A 10 year old girl was married off to a 28 year old man by her father in order to resolve a family debt. The police have arrested the 28 year old groom and the person who conducted the Nikkah after they receiving an complain from the girl’s mother. According to the groom the girl’s father had taken Rs 15,000 from him and in order to repay him he had agreed to the marriage.

The police have registered a case under the child marriage act.
