Pakistan Wins Her First Oscar
Sharmeen Obaid, the maker of Saving Face won Pakistan’s first Oscar today at the 84th Academy Awards Ceremony 2012 in LA, Hollywood Reporter told.
Daniel Junge and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy film follows British plastic surgeon Dr. Mohammad Jawad, who returns to his homeland to help victims of acid burns. The film follows one woman as she fights to see that the perpetrators of the crime are imprisoned for life.
The Academy Awards are taking place in Hollywood and are being televised live on ABC. They are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
