Marissa Mayer becomes Yahoo! CEO after moving from Google

California, USA: Yahoo! has appointed Marissa Mayer as its President and Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) with effect from tomorrow. 

According to the company the move signals a renewed focus on product innovation to drive its user experience and advertising revenue. Mayer had been at Google for 13 years, a long time, most recently as Vice President of Local, Maps, and Location Services. She also organize the much popular Google Doodle program on the company’s home page.
David Filo, co-founder of Yahoo!, told TheGaibianPost that ”Marissa is a well-known, visionary leader in user experience and product design and one of Silicon Valley’s most exciting strategists in technology development. I look forward to working with her to enhance Yahoo’s product offerings for our over 700 million unique monthly visitors.”
