Eid-ul Fitr moon spotted in North Waziristan

Peshawar, Pakistan: The local Ulema Committee of the city announced on Friday that the Shawwal moon has been sighted in the Mir Ali district of North Waziristan,.

According to the the committee Eid-ul Fitr will be celebrated in the region on August 18. The committee sated that they have received reports of moon sighting from six witnesses.
Previously, Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that Shawwal moon would not be sighted even on August 18 and Eid will be celebrated on August 20 in Pakistan.
For the first time in Pakistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the rest of the country observed the first Ramazan on the same day and the Eid will be celebrated on different days.
