Why to blame Pakistan cricket team?

A few months ago I was watching a match played by Pakistani cricket team; it was the same story, same manners and same results, nothing different. Dropped catches, missed run outs, miss fielding, everything painful. Earlier during the batting they had the same show; lofty strokes, unnecessary slow scoring and everything that resulted in the defeat of Pakistan . And what a change, now they are using a new technique loss the match by a narrow margin, take it to a situation where it seems that they have fought very well and it was just a bad luck or some misfortune (please refer to all lost matches since the start of last T20 World Cup).

At the initial moments  of the match  I  became hyper, lost my temperament and started boiling but very soon I became normal  and remained quite cool during the rest of the match. Initially I thought about the players, their selection in the team and their position as a representative of the Pakistani nation.  I thought that they are the 11 out of 180 million; they are the members of a prestigious Pakistani team, the way they are selected for Pakistan , their tough training and the hardships and difficulties they face in reaching to this position. But sooner I realized (although this sooner came quite late, almost after 40 years) their problems and their brought up, and then I corrected my thinking and became quite cool.

They are Pakistanis where it is a known practice that doctors serving in hospitals, hunt patients for their private clinics and hospitals, teachers lure their students to their private academies and tuition centers (I have seen a number of college professors taking their private tuition s during their college hours or working as visiting faculty members in private colleges) and government officials promote their private business, while they are sitting in their offices, and it does not stop here even our rulers are doing the same.

The purpose is not to blame anybody; the purpose is to talk about the trends and attitudes of the fellow countrymen. We as a nation have forgotten the lessons of honesty and good practice. The people have only one purpose in their mind and that is to increase their wealth without considering from where it is coming and how it is coming. No one is bothered about the consequence of all these malpractices. The worst is the fact that whatever we are doing, we are not considering it wrong and we are taking it as our right. Great poet Iqbal said that it is a great loss that convoy has been looted, but it is worse that the passengers are not acknowledging their loss.

وائے ناکامی متاع کارواں جاتا رہا
کارواں کے دل سے احساس زیاں جاتا رہا
(اقبال)

The Pakistani players are doing exactly what they have learned at their schools/colleges, why to blame them? This is what, what our society is telling them all the time. As a nation we have to correct our priorities and standards, when we will achieve this, I have no doubt that then we will be showing our right performance, till such time no one should blame the players of Pakistani team.
