6.2 Magnitude Earthquake shakes Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Kashmir (UPDATING)

Peshawar, Pakistan: A 6.2-magnitude earthquake, centered in South-eastern Afghanistan, 11km South of Mehtar Lam, sent tremors to different part of Pakistan including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab on Wednesday afternoon.

The cities which felt tremors include Peshawar, Parachinar, Islamabad, Swat, Kamoki, Sheikhupura and Lahore. Tremors were also felt in Azad Kashmir and the Kashmir occupied by India.

According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake was 11km south of the town of Mehtar Lam, city of Jalalabad.

According to reports, the 6.2 magnitude earthquake measured on Richter scale was stronger then the earthquake which shakes Afghanistan, Dubai and Pakistan on 17th Arpil’ 2013.

People came out of their houses and offices and started praying for their lives.

The earthquake was also felt in some parts of India including the capital New Dehli.

There are no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Last night, 2.2 magnitude earthquake shook Islamabad and surrounding areas.
